If you don’t want your weapon to choke, what’s the first thing you should do? Clean it.

Why the @#$%^ did my bolt just jam?
If you’ve ever been on the range, out hunting, or (God forbid) trying to defend yourself and had a failure to feed, fire, extract, or eject… you know the frustration and, sometimes, fear.
Guns that are left to gather dirt, dust, and rust tend to malfunction. Guns that accumulate an excess of carbon from a lack of cleaning tend to malfunction harder.
Pins and Springs Gunsmithing is here as a reliable partner to keep your guns firing smoothly without you having to buy hundreds of dollars worth of tools, and having to break out the armory manual.

My name is Kristjan Theus. You can learn more about my background as your South Metro gunsmith here, but for over a decade, I’ve been working on guns. If you don’t want your weapon to choke, what’s the first thing you should do? Clean it.
If it’s been a while, and field stripping it isn’t getting the job done? Bring it in, I’ll break it down to the pins and springs and do a full visual inspection and mechanical assessment.
Hunting season comes and goes, but gun use does not.
Whether you’re on the range, enjoying shooting sports, or protecting your household, gunsmith availability matters. I like fixing problems.
I live here so I’m pretty much always here, and I like helping out.
I’m here to talk — talk about sights, optics, repair work, stock replacement. Anything firearms related you might need or want done. And if I can’t do it, there’s a good chance I can put you in touch with someone who can.
And I’m not trying to sell you a new gun! This isn’t a retail store with some cleaning assistance. We don’t offer FFL transfers or silencer shops (although we know people who do!).
I’m 100% focused on empowering the existing firearms community to have longer, more enjoyable ownership of what they already have. I do that through:

From stock to sight, we take apart, clean, and reassemble

Replace, order parts, and install, we tackle normal wear and tear malfunctions

We can upgrade new parts and make your firearm a personalized piece. (So long as we don’t change the normal function of the firearm.)

New optics, no problems. We install new sights and test accurate aiming. (We can't be held accountable if you miss that big buck.)

Inherit a historic piece from your forebears? I can help you inspect and research those firearms so you know exactly what you’ve got. And I’ll provide you with an estimated appraisal value.

All to make your hobby as a gun enthusiast easier and more enjoyable.
I value your right to repair as well as my own. I’m here to be your partner in keeping your firearms working for years to come.
No need for a new piece or to throw a fit when a spring flies off across the room.
